BELFAST – Virginia E. Hughes, 83, died July 21, 2009, in Belfast. She was born June 11, 1926, in Bangor, the daughter of Edgar and Charity (Shaw) Burgin. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and watching old Western movies. Virginia loved picnics and outings. She attended Spectrum Generations three days a week. She loved her grandchildren very much. She was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Adeline Hughes; as well as seven brothers and sisters. Virginia is survived by her children, Margaret H. Bonney of Belmont, Robert A. Hughes II and wife, Marion, of Belfast and Iris Hooper and husband, Dennis, of Frankfort; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
