ST. FRANCIS – Rena A. (Oakes) Ouellette, 85, beloved wife of Ernest Ouellette, died July 27, 2009, at a Madawaska health care facility. She was born July 17, 1924, in Connors, New Brunswick, the daughter of Vital and Modeste (Michaud) Oakes. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Ernest Ouellette of Madawaska; one son, Stanley Ouellette and his wife, Nancy, of St. John Plantation; one sister, Lucia Ouellette of Millinocket; and her grandchildren, Scott Ouellette and his wife, Dawn and their children, Ashley and Cassidy, and Kevin Ouellette and his wife, Connie and their children, Kiara and Gibson. She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Norman Oakes; and sisters, Lillian Jandreau, and Irma Oakes. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis. Private committal services will be afterward in the parish cemetery.
