CARMEL – Stanley “Stan” E. McCall, 73, formerly of Wakefield, Mass., died peacefully July 27, 2009, with his family at his side, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 4, 1936, in Lynn, Mass., the son of Kenneth and Lillian (Chafe) McCall. Stan served in the U.S. Air Force, 1954-1958; and was a member of Wakefield Police Auxiliary. He was a member of Hermon Baptist Church where he sang bass in the choir, was the Sunday school superintendent and taught vacation bible school. Stan sold office supplies for many years and owned McCall’s Office Products. He loved the outdoors especially riding his tractor, gardening and animals. Stan is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Diane (Leonard) McCall of Carmel; his daughter, Kim Vicnaire and Chris Buck of Bangor; two sons, Mark and his wife, Elissa McCall, of Brewer, and Douglas McCall of Carmel; two sisters, Drusilla Varney of Fayetteville, N.C., and Elsa Lawrence of Massachusetts; four grandchildren, Sarah and Benjamin Vicnaire, William and Molly McCall; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, July 31, at Hermon Baptist Church with Rev. Garnett Chute, pastor, officiating. Interment will be after the service at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the interment in the church vestry.
