HODGDON – Alice Crawford McQuarrie, 83, died July 31, 2009, at an Auburn health care facility. She was born June 11, 1926, in Houlton, the daughter of Frank and Harriett (Rugan) Crawford. Alice was a lifelong communicant of Saint Mary of the Visitation Church and a member of Catholic Women’s Council. She was employed as secretary of Aroostook County Probate Court for 48 years. Alice’s life revolved around her family, her church and her work. She is survived by her children, Michael and his wife, Cheryl, of Glendale, Ariz., and their children, Christopher and Matthew, Mary and her husband, Bird Lake, of Lisbon Falls and their children, Nathan, Jeffrey and Benjamin, and David of Phoenix and his children, Caitlin and Emily; one sister, Alma Gallop of Hodgdon; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Wilfred A. R. McQuarrie; and daughter-in-law, Ann Mailman McQuarrie. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at Dunn Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Mary of the Visitation Church with the Rev. David Raymond, celebrant. Interment will be at Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
