LIBERTY – Alberta M. Blood, 77, died Aug. 5, 2009, at a local hospital. She was born Aug. 9, 1931, in Belfast, daughter of Dana and Hazel (Wood) Achorn. Her greatest pleasure in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and keeping her home for her family. After her family was grown she was active as a Tupperware manager. She also worked in the pants factory and many summers as a state park manager with her husband. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Albert Blood. She is survived by her children, Joseph and Sue Blood of Wellington and RoAnn Blood and her husband, Jim Luce, of Liberty; two sisters, Thelma Rolerson and her twin sister, Roberta Woodbury, both of Belfast; four sisters-in-law, Doris Herbert and husband, Howard, Florence Bibber, Iva Jackson and Barbara Symes; and her grandchildren, Joseph Blood Jr. and his children, Amanda, Brandon, Savannah, Colby and Shelby; A.J. Dutch; Jennifer Snow and husband, Randy; Lisa Chase and her husband, Cory and their son, Hagen; and Janet Blood and her children, Christopher, Jared and Janessa. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
