CAPE ELIZABETH – Jonathan D. Vose, 52, a loving father, brother and son died Aug. 4, 2009. Jon was born June 28, 1958, in Calais, to C. Richard Vose and Andrea B. Vose. He was educated in Calais schools and later entered the U.S. Navy. Jonathan served with the U.S. Navy, where he was known as “Mouse,” from 1979 to 1983 as an aviation electrician’s mate. He continued his electronics education and worked for Measurex Corp. Jon later became a certified nursing assistant and had a special talent as a caregiver. He worked in nursing homes in Calais and Bangor. Jon also had a special connection with United Methodist Church, Calais. A man who gave compassion to care giving and laughter to our hearts. He truly was the most giving and friendliest man anyone could have met. “I don’t know if we each have a destiny, or if we’re all just floatin’ around accidental – like on a breeze. But I, I think maybe it’s both.” – Forrest Gump. He was predeceased by his parents, C. Richard Vose and Andrea B. Vose of Calais and Bangor. Survivors include his daughter, Julie Ann Vose of South Portland; a sister, Susan M. Chaffee and her husband, Philip, of Presque Isle; brother, Stephen R. Vose and his wife, Carolyn, of Hermon and Calais; brother, C. Kim Vose and his wife, Susan Vose, of Grand Lake Stream; along with several nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at the Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Augusta. Arrangements by Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland.
