Youngsters will have the chance to learn more about the sport of archery on Aug. 15 during a program at the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray.

The event, sponsored by the Friends of the Maine Wildlife Park, will run from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Jerome Richards, the president of the Maine Bowhunters Association, and his wife Tina, will present a program that provides hands-on fun for kids.

The Richards will set up targets, showcase a variety of bows and provide instruction so adults and kids can try their hand at archery. The activity appeals to families, both genders and all age groups.
