ORONO and BANGOR – Alice Virginia McCann, 82, died Aug. 10, 2009, at a local hospital. She was born Nov. 22, 1926, in Waterville, the daughter of Patrick and Lillian (Morris) McCann. Alice was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Orono. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two brothers, Francis and Edward L. McCann; and six sisters, Dorothy Trainor, Rita Gallant, Mary Fitzgerald, Florence Welch, Ruth Williams and Grace Melvin. Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at Riverside Cemetery, Orono, with the Rev. Rudolph Leveille officiating. A service of Brookings-Smith, LaBeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono.
