BAR HARBOR and OLD TOWN – Christine L. Bowden, 59, died Aug. 5, 2009, in Bar Harbor. She was born April 21, 1950, in Chester, the daughter of Harold E. and Florence Mary (Jipson) Gray. Christine loved working with children and adults with special needs. She was an amazing artist and she loved to read. She is survived by her two sons, Sean Allen of Florida and John Bowden of Bar Harbor; two daughters, Rain Bowden of Bar Harbor and Misty Bowden-Atherton of Texas; special friend, Rhonda Bragg of Dexter; and grandchildren, Shawn Arguin Jr., Hunter Arguin, Cullen Shorette-Bowden and Moregan Bowden-Atherton. Christine was predeceased by her parents; and her husband of 21 years, Stanley R. Bowden. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, at St. James’ Episcopal Church, Center Street, Old Town.
