SOUTH ADDISON and PAISLEY, Fla. – James “Jimmy” Bucknam passed away Aug. 10, 2009, surrounded by his loving family, at home. He was born April 7, 1947, in Machias, the son of Allen R. and Grace (Sinford) Bucknam. Jimmy was a 1965 graduate of Columbia Falls High School and a 1969 graduate of Bath Iron Works shipfitter apprentice program. He married his high school sweetheart, Gail Marie Look, July 2, 1966, in Jonesport. Throughout his lifetime, Jimmy left Bath Iron Works and moved to South Addison to run Eastern Harbor Lobster Sales, Inc., a business started by his father-in-law. He later purchased North Atlantic Lobster Sales, Inc. He had been in the lobster business for 40 years and loved his job. Jimmy loved trucks and spent many years delivering lobsters to New York City. Jimmy thoroughly enjoyed talking and joking with the fishermen. He was a faithful member and elder in the Community of Christ Church and served as pastor in South Addison for many years. He also served as a board member of South Addison Union Church. He was a Boy Scout troop leader and a Pee Wee basketball coach for several years. He served as president of East Side Cemetery Association since its incorporation. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed racing. He loved each and every one of his grandchildren, making them each feel special. His genuine interest and concern for people will be greatly missed. Surviving Jimmy are his wife of 43 years, Gail Bucknam of South Addison; three children, J. Darin Bucknam and wife, Robyn, of Mooresville, N.C., Julie Bucknam Burke and husband, Chris, and Kelley Bucknam Danforth and husband, Mike, all of South Addison; two grandsons, Luke Brendan Bucknam and Keagan Michael Danforth; four granddaughters, Kristen Marie, Brittany Marie and Cassidy Gail Burke and Kayla Marie Danforth; sister, Mary Eva Kane and her husband, Kenny; many nephews and nieces; brothers-in-law, Ralph Look and his wife, Mary, Duane Look and his wife, Joan, Dennis Look and his wife, Linda, and Clifton Look Jr. and his wife, Martha; several aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his father and mother. Services will be held 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at South Addison Union Church with Pastor Harold Tyler Jr. and Seventy Gary Wilson officiating.
