Whitetail Golf Course owners Scott and Shari Duthie invite you to participate in their annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event by entering the Lloyd Duthie Memorial Golf Tournament.
That fundraiser begins with two shotgun starts at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at Whitetail in Charleston.
The cost is $30 each for the 4-person scramble and includes a buffet lunch.
Hole sponsorships are $50 and can be contributed “in honor of, or memory of someone” with cancer you have known, Shari Duthie wrote.

Maine Kids-Kin is holding a yard sale, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. both Friday, Aug. 14, and Saturday, Aug. 15, at Enterprise Grange Hall on the corner of Center Drive and Dow Road in Orrington, reports Janelle Wuoristo of Families and Children Together in Bangor, which sponsors Maine Kids-Kin.
All proceeds benefit Maine Kids-Kin Emergency Fund to help “grandfamilies in crisis,” Wuoristo wrote of the program that assists grandfamilies and extended family members who are caring for relatives’ children.
