CARIBOU – Gail D. Tardie died unexpectedly Aug. 13, 2009, in Caribou. She was born at Eagle Lake, the daughter of the late Eloi and Mamie (Albert) Tardie. Gail was a graduate of Fort Kent Hill High School and received her associate degree in business administration from Husson College. She was employed by several banks in Connecticut for more than 35 years. After her retirement, she returned to the Caribou area with her sister, Delores. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she was a member of Ladies of St. Anne as well as Daughters of Isabella. She is survived by a brother, Wilmer Tardie of Caribou; three sisters, Christine Lamarre of Plantsville, Conn., Albertine Nadeau of Sherrill, N.Y., and Delores Tardie of Caribou; many nieces and nephews. Although Gail had no children, she thought of her nieces and nephews as her own and she truly enjoyed her trips to Maine to visit with them. She will also be greatly missed by her two great-nephews and her great-niece. Gail was predeceased by three brothers, Alvin “Junior” Tardie, Albert Tardie and Elmer Tardie; and a sister, Ernestine Lemieux. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood, Caribou. Interment will be 10 a.m. Monday at Eagle Lake Cemetery.
