CHARLESTON – Angelica M. (Hawkes) Skipper, 32, died Aug. 13, 2009, surrounded by her loving family at a Bangor hospital. She was born Jan. 27, 1977, in Bangor, the daughter of Richard and Terri (Lawson) Hawkes. She graduated from Bangor High School, Husson College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and was about to receive her master’s degree in teaching from the University of Phoenix, to reach her goal of elementary school teacher. She is survived by her parents of Bangor; her loving husband, Matthew Skipper of Charleston; son, Jacob; daughter, Madyson; brother, Brent Hawkes of Bangor; “Nana,” Joyce Hollis; “Grammy,” Fran Hawkes, both of Bangor; mother-in-law, Susan O’Connor of Bangor; father-in-law, David Skipper of Medway; sister-in-law and very close friend, Kristi and her husband, Joseph Shepherd, of Bangor; two special nieces, Addison and Delaney; special friends, Kelley, Jenna and Margo; many aunts, uncles and cousins. A service of remembrance will be held 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Charles Hurst, pastor of Apostolic Lighthouse Church, Bangor, officiating.
