SOUTH BERWICK, Maine — A Dover, N.H., man has apparently drowned in a Maine pond.
WMTW-TV says the 27-year-old was trying to swim to an island with a friend in Leighs Mill Pond in South Berwick on Saturday afternoon when he had problems.
Fire officials were unable to rescue the man, whose name has not been released.
A professional diver found his body in about 14 feet of water.
