HAMPDEN – Marilyn Ann (Wentworth) Hanscom, 77, beloved wife of Donald P. Hanscom, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Aug. 18, 2009, while at a Bangor health care facility. She was born April 4, 1932, in Waldo, the daughter of Manus and Christine (Mayberry) Wentworth. Marilyn was a Christian woman who dedicated her life to her Lord and family. She was proud to have been a homemaker, lovingly raising her and Don’s six children. Marilyn found great joy in cooking and living in the country. Everyone will remember her strawberry shortcake, but most importantly, as being a wife and mother. She will be remembered as a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. In addition she was a very patriotic person. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 61 years, Don of Hampden; her children, Cheryl Millett and husband, David, of Chester, Rejina Morgan and husband, Ed, of Limerick, Alan Hanscom and wife, Debbie, of Hanson, Mass., Lance Hanscom and wife, Emily, of Blanco, N.M., Valerie Jameson and husband, Brian, of Orlando, Fla., and Scott Hanscom of Hampden; brothers and sisters, James Wentworth and wife, Jill, Carol Miller, Sally Gould and husband, Charles, Ronald Wentworth and wife, Debbie, and Shirley Whitcomb and husband, Dennis; 11 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday with Kirk Winters, pastor of Rock Church, Bangor, officiating.
