Reality TV stars have been on a roll of bad behavior this week, so perhaps it’s time we take a look at some of the basic rules of society.
My mother always taught me to think before I speak. While it doesn’t always work that way, and I’ve been known to let my mouth work faster than my brain, perhaps Richard Hatch should have thought things out a little bit more before spewing his story to the media in interviews that hadn’t been approved by his probation people. It’s a good thing “Survivor” takes place deep in the jungle or on islands far away from the rest of society — otherwise he would have lost for sure.
“Big Brother” contestant Chima Simone also found herself in hot water this week when her actions resulted in her eviction from the competition.
While limits often get pushed on the show, you’re not going to get “head of household” or even ahead in the game if you fly off the handle, which is exactly what Chima did.
She destroyed her microphone by throwing it in the pool, refused to respond to producers’ requests made over the house’s public address system, blocked cameras (a big no-no on a show that relies on the drama caught on tape), and acted inappropriately at the eviction ceremony.
I wonder who would survive if Chima and Hatch were put in a room together. Maybe it’s time for a new reality all-star tempers show? Omarosa, Richard and Chima could be the first three contestants.
Now that we’ve all been reminded of a couple of life’s important lessons, let’s take a look at what’s coming up.
Bravo starts the week right with a new season of “The Rachel Zoe Project” at 10 p.m. Monday. As one of the hottest stylists in Hollywood, Rachel and Team Zoe jet from coast to coast for a slew of red carpet events, striving to find the perfect dress for clients — and do it with plenty of drama to keep us entertained. Even if you don’t like reality TV but find yourself fascinated by the fashion world, this one’s worth checking out as it features some of the most influential faces of fashion, including Giorgio Armani, John Galliano and Diane Von Furstenberg.
This season also features a trip to Paris Fashion Week, which is sure to be a spectacle.
