WASHBURN and CASSELBERRY, Fla. – Carroll E. Bouchey, 80, passed away Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at a Mars Hill health care facility. He was born Feb. 3, 1929, in Washburn, the son of Henry and Beatrice (Drost) Bouchey. Carroll grew up in the Washburn area, and worked for 27 years for A.E. Flewelling as a supervisor. Carroll loved to build things and was noted for his seven-foot lighthouse replicas, one of which can still be seen at his son, Henry’s. He enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica, camping, and digging for clams and eating lobster when he was on the coast. He was a member of Caribou Pentecostal, Washburn Pentecostal and Dunntown Advent Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, Viola (Philbrook) Bouchey of Casselberry, Fla.; five children, Carolyn Nadeau and her husband, Joe, of Washburn, Donna Tilley of Fort Fairfield, Carl Bouchey and his wife, Pamela, of Washburn, Rodney Bouchey and his wife, Martha, of Woodland and Henry Bouchey and his wife, Tina, of Fort Fairfield; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Pauline Gregg of Winter Park, Fla. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Milford Bouchey; and a sister, Florence Carter. A celebration of Carroll’s life will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at Dunntown Advent Christian Church with the Rev. George McLaughlin officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of service. After the celebration there will be a time of refreshment in the church fellowship hall.
