ANSON, Maine — Police say an 11-month old baby died after being run over by his father’s pickup truck in the driveway of his Anson, Maine, home.
The Morning Sentinel of Waterville says the child was taken to a Skowhegan hospital, where he died, after Thursday’s accident.
Lt. Carl Gottardi of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department says 19-year-old Chasellor Burris was unaware the boy was outdoors when he backed up his truck to go to the dump. Officials say the child’s mother had put the child outside to play while she returned to the house to get more trash.
Rescue units were called to the scene.
