CARIBOU and CROSS LAKE – Reginald Joseph Nadeau, 69, husband of Katheline “Kay” Nadeau, died Aug. 24, 2009, in Fort Kent, after a 26-year courageous battle with heart disease. He was born April 7, 1941, in Caribou, the son of Joseph and Beatrice (St. Peter) Nadeau. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kay (Roy) Nadeau of Caribou; two sons, the Rev. James L. Nadeau of Fort Kent and the Rev. Timothy J. Nadeau of Bangor; one daughter, Kimberly A. Cushing and her husband, Rick, of Litchfield, N.H.; one granddaughter, Isabella Marie Bruno; a stepgrandson, Erik Cushing; and six sisters, Irene Hess, Corrine Nadeau, Phyllis Steward, Dolores Higgins, Arlene Nadeau and Charlene Burgay. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Henry and Francis; and four sisters, Viola, Shirley, Theresa and Joan. Friends may call 1 p.m. until time of the Mass Thursday, Aug. 27, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 3 p.m. Thursday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood. Interment will take place in the family plot at Old Holy Rosary Cemetery.
