STEUBEN – Morgan A. Parritt, 15, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Steuben. She was born April 28, 1994, in Ellsworth, the daughter of Mike Parritt and Jennifer (Haycock) Coates. She attended grammar school at Ella Lewis School, Steuben and was enrolled in Sumner Memorial High School, Sullivan, where she was about to enter her sophomore year. During her education, Morgan enjoyed playing basketball and loved going to stock car races watching her father and uncle. Morgan was one who enjoyed hanging out with her many friends and really enjoyed texting with her friends. She was a young and vibrant little lady, friendly to everyone, and will be loved and missed by many. Family members include her father, Michael Parritt and companion, Amber Newenham; her mother, Jennifer (Haycock) Coates and husband, Dan Coates; her sister, Ashley Parritt; maternal grandparents, Bobby and Bonnie Haycock; paternal grandparents, Bub and Nancy Parritt; a maternal great-grandmother, Eleanor Chipman; paternal great-grandmother, Mary Smeal; aunts and uncles, Billy and Sheila Chipman, Ann Parritt, Jennifer Parritt and companion, David Deniger, Wayne Parritt and companion, Karen Seavey, and Brenton Parritt and companion, Katti Meeks; and cousins, Billie-Jo Pung, Justin and Haley Brenton, Dennis Sargent III, Brett and Ryan Deniger, Wayne Jr., Heather, Megan, Bryson, Bristol, Braydon and Cadance Parritt. She will be sadly missed by many close friends including Emily Leighton. She was predeceased her maternal great-grandfather, Willis Chipman; a paternal great-grandfather, Wayne Smeal; and paternal great-grandparents, Irving and Marjorie Parritt. Morgan’s family thanks Petit Manan Ambulance Corps, Cherryfield Ambulance, Pleasant River Ambulance, County Ambulance, LifeFlight ground crew and Washington County dispatch for their valiant efforts trying to rescue these children. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family 4-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Milbridge. Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Ella Lewis Grammar School, Steuben, with Charles Kelley, officiating. Burial will be after at Village Cemetery, Steuben.
