MARS HILL, Maine — Garrett Stiles broke a 3-3 deadlock by scoring an unassisted goal with 6:32 remaining Wednesday afternoon and lifting Central Aroostook of Mars Hill to a 4-3 boys soccer victory over Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook.
Brendan York, Spencer Stetson and Dan Brewer tallied a goal apiece for 5-1 Central Aroostook. Tyler Rusby made five saves on 11 shots.
Dakota Sleeper scored two goals for 1-1 Southern Aroostook, including the tying goal 9:35 into the second half. Patrick Goodall added a goal to back Jesse Boulier, who made 12 saves on 25 shots.
Van Buren 5, Washburn 0
At Van Buren, Garik Theriault scored two goals as Van Buren defeated Washburn.
A.J. Edgecomb scored a goal and provided two assists for the 3-1 Crusaders. Caleb Roy had a goal and an assist and Kyle Hews scored a goal. Nathan Lapointe posted an assist while Marc Lajoie stopped all 10 shots to earn the shutout.
Ethan Pendexter made 14 saves on 23 shots for 1-4 Washburn.
Fort Kent 1, Houlton 1 (2OT)
At Fort Kent, Fort Kent’s Alex Charette and Houlton’s Jared Tapley didn’t allow a goal through two overtimes.
Micah Goetsch tied it for 0-0-1 Houlton with 37:52 left in regulation. Tapley stopped eight of 20 shots.
Cody Lozier scored with 32:43 left in the first half for 1-0-1 Fort Kent. Charette made three saves off 11 shots.
Girls soccer
So. Aroostook 6, CAHS 0
At Mars Hill, three players scored two goals apiece as Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook shut out Central Aroostook.
Liz Goodall, Evangeline Goodall and Kim Pratt scored two goals apiece for 1-0 Southern Aroostook. Lauren McGary and Kaitlyn Sommers provided assists. Emily Cummings stopped two of seven shots.
Ashley Estabrook, Nashalli Parks and MacKenzie Hatt combined to save nine of 28 shots for 2-3-1 Central Aroostook.
Van Buren 2, Washburn 0
At Van Buren, Shawna LaPointe scored off a Kristy Learnard assist 7:30 into the first half as Van Buren beat Washburn.
Haley Lizotte added an insurance goal with an assist from Chantal Rioux 17 minutes into the second half for the 2-2 Crusaders. Ashlie Wilson saved all three shots.
Meagan Saucier turned away 11 of 17 shots for 0-1-3 Washburn.

During this busy sports season, the BDN asks that managers and coaches for the home teams promptly report the games. Games can be reported starting at 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Games can not be reported on Saturday.

Coaches and managers are urged to provide details for both teams when reporting games. First names of players on both teams as well as statistics are needed. Those not providing full details for both teams run the risk of the games not being published in the paper.
