Without spinoffs, reality TV wouldn’t have prospered like it has, and it’s time for another one that all of you “Bachelor” fans are sure to love.
According to Reality TV World’s Web site and blogs all over the Webosphere, E! is set to launch “Living the Lamas Life” this fall.
The show will follow Shayne Lamas, winner of “The Bachelor: London Calling,” and her family. Her father, Lorenzo Lamas, of his own reality TV fame, also is going to be featured. While his shows were much shorter-lived — remember ABC’s “Are You Hot?” and CMT’s “Gone Country” — the elder Lamas will be a star this time around along with his ex-wife, Michele Smith.
If they pick things up where the “Bachelor” drama left off in the news, it should be a good premiere. To fill you in, Shayne accepted the final rose and Matt Grant’s proposal, but the two split up a few months later after Shayne allegedly cheated on her bachelor. She denies it, but maybe we’ll get more of the juicy story at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11.
While the fall lineup is just around the corner, we’ve got some summer still to wrap up (even if the weather is telling us otherwise). “America’s Got Talent” is now down to the top 20 and I’ve got to give it to singer Mia Boostrom.
I agreed with the judge’s choice that it was time for her to go, but admire her persistence and determination. The teen who was crushed after she didn’t make it past Vegas last year came back with heart and I wish her the best. Her advice not to give up on your dreams is absolutely correct!
And in keeping with tradition, it’s time for me to make my top picks for finalists. Not in any particular order, I’m going with singer Barbara Padilla, Drew Thomas Magic, Grandma Lee (I love her!), the crazy skills of Footworkingz and of course, chicken catchin’ country crooner Kevin Skinner.
