BUCKSPORT – Ruth E. Dorr, 79, died Aug. 26, 2009, at a Blue Hill hospital. She was born Sept. 17, 1929, in Orland, the daughter of William A. and Katherine B. (York) Leach. She was a member of Riverside Chapter Order of the Eastern Star No. 123, Orland and Castine Grange No. 250. Ruth loved playing bingo, going to McDonald’s and to Senior Citizens events, listening to music, and going out to eat with her family. She is survived by her family: a son, Malcolm Dorr and wife, Johanna, of Orland; three daughters, Katherine Allison and husband, Steven, of Bucksport, Susan R. Dorr of North Penobscot and Carol R. Dorr of Winthrop; five grandchildren, Michael, Stacy, Steven, Jason and Ryan; 11 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Seth, Jessica, Brandon, Ashley, Cody, Makila, Amanda, Rylee, Meagan and Landon; brother, Elwell Leach of New Castle; sister, Hildred Kinney of West Enfield; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Orland, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. A reception will be held afterward at Bonnie and Len Tyler’s house in Castine. Donations may be made in her memory to Riverside Chapter O.E.S. No. 123, Orland, ME 04472.
