NORTH BILLERICA, Mass., and VAN BUREN – Robert C. Cyr, 66, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at the veterans hospital in West Roxbury, Mass. He was born Dec. 15, 1942, in Van Buren, the son of Frank and Sadie (Sirois) Cyr. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, proudly serving aboard the USS William C. Lawe DD763 and the USS Manley DD940. He was vice commander of VFW, Solomon Post No. 8819, Billerica, Mass., a member of Tewksbury DAV Chapter 110 and Bunting Club of Lowell, and a lifelong member of Billerica Elks Lodge No. 2071. Bob was a former property manager of Lakeside Mobile Home Park, Billerica, Mass., and had recently retired from MetLife, Tewksbury, Mass. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Patricia M. Cyr of St. Andre, New Brunswick; nieces, Michelle Cyr and husband, Bruno Savard, and Danielle Cyr-Poitras and husband, Gerard; a nephew, Pierre Cyr and friend, Diane Berube; and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Clayton G. Cyr. Relatives and friends may call 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday, Sept. 7, at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church with his cousin, Father Chanel Cyr, celebrant. Committal service and interment will be at the parish cemetery.
