WASHBURN – Lydia E. Sperrey, 68, died Sept. 1, 2009, at her residence. She was born Sept. 16, 1940, in Castle Hill, the daughter of George O. and Frances (Butterfield) Randall. Lydia was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She worked as a bookkeeper and was co-owner of Sperrey’s Superette, Washburn. Lydia was a member and noble grand of the Rebekah Lodge, Ashland, for many years. She served on SAD 45 School Board from 1978 to 1987 and as chairperson from 1986 to 1987. She was a member of Washburn Fire Department Auxiliary and attended Washburn Pentecostal Church. Lydia enjoyed working in her flowers, crocheting and decorating her home. She is survived by her mother, Frances Randall of Etna; her husband, Daryl of Washburn; two sons, Mark of Monticello and Eric of Glenburn; a daughter, Cheri-Lynn Boedeker of Naples, Fla.; two brothers, Eugene Randall and his wife, Faye, of Dixmont and Clifford Randall of Etna; five sisters and their husbands, Lorraine and Kenneth Garber of Warren, Mich., Georgenia and Steve Graves of Newport, Abbie and Steve Fowler of South Paris, Jessica and Anthony Hughes of Skowhegan and Jacquelyn Wescott of Etna; five grandchildren, who she dearly loved, Jamie Lynn Sperrey, Mitchell and Nathan Sperrey, Brenna and Kristen Boedeker; many cousins, nieces and nephews; sister-in-law and special friend, Glenna Sperrey of Monticello; and special friends, David and Sue Tarbox of Etna, Emily Daigle of Washburn, Joy Buck of Chapman and Brenda Devoe of Washburn. She was predeceased by her father; and a brother, Burton Randall. The family thanks everyone for all your prayers and love, and a special thank you to Eugene and Faye for everything you did for Lydia.Relatives and friends are invited to call 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at Washburn Pentecostal Church, Washburn, with the Rev. Bruce Blakney officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Extension Cemetery, Washburn.
