At Bar Harbor, Derek Colbeth rushed 18 times for 136 yards and scored two touchdowns to help lead Mount Desert Island past Belfast.
MDI held a 21-18 lead in the fourth quarter until Duncan Smith gave the Trojans some insurance on a 31-yard touchdown run. Elias Burne added another touchdown on a 1-yard run.
Burne totaled 56 yards on 15 carries and scored two touchdowns for MDI. The Trojans totaled 373 yards on 54 plays.
Willie Fogg scored two touchdowns to pace Belfast. Matt Sanderson also scored on a 3-yard run in the first quarter. The Lions had 158 yards on 44 plays.
Chase Bickford led MDI’s defense with nine tackles, three sacks and a blocked punt. Taylor Stewart recorded 12 tackles.

At Fairfield, senior running back Christian Powers scored six touchdowns and Lawrence of Fairfield scored the game’s first 35 points en route to a comfortable win.
Devin Sherman’s 46-yard touchdown scamper jumpstarted a 28-point first quarter that also featured TD runs of 13, 16 and 13 by Powers.
Curtis Dow’s 13-yard run made it 35-0 in the second period before Dom Drake caught a 23-yard TD pass from Dylan Oxley.
Powers scored the next three touchdowns as he sandwiched runs of three and 35 yard around an 85-yard fumble recovery return.
Tylor Perry’s two-yard run and Caleb Woodward’s three-yard dive provided Brewer’s final two TDs before Alex Leathers’ one-yard run capped the scoring for Lawrence.
Powers carried the ball eight times for 106 yards.

At Augusta, Nick Lucas completed eight of 10 passes for 103 yards and three touchdowns to lead Cony past Mount Ararat of Topsham.
Rick Orio caught three passes for 83 yards and scored two touchdowns for the Rams. Luke Dunkley had 101 yards on 13 carries and scored twice.
Cony’s T.J. Vallee recorded 14 tackles, and Chris Robinson had an interception.

Leavitt 29, Hampden 22 (OT)
At Turner, Eric Pheiss scampered 10 yards for a touchdown in overtime to give Leavitt its first lead of the night, and the Hornets’ defense stopped the Broncos on a fourth-down play inside the 10-yard line to seal the victory.
Hampden had led 22-7 in the third quarter.
Josh Strickland, who led the Hornets with 159 yards on 27 carries, brought his team within two with a fourth-quarter touchdown while Lucas Witham enabled Leavitt to tie it as he sacked Hampden QB Jonathan Haase for a safety.
Eric Pheiss rushed for 51 yards and three TDs for Leavitt and completed 11 of 19 passes for 121 yards.
Haase finished 12-for-22 with 171 yards and no interceptions for Hampden. Michael Jenkins, who rushed for 24 yards, scored a first-quarter touchdown while Nolan Turner hauled in a 54-yard TD pass from Haase. Justin Rodgerson added a five-yard TD catch for the Broncos.

Rideout had a goal and two assists for the 1-0 Pandas. Ashley Dill scored a goal and Kelsey Grass had an assist. Felicia Thornton saved six of 15 shots.
She-Ann Sergeant and Tia Gould scored unassisted goals for the 0-1 Ponies. Sarah Whittemore stopped five of 11 shots.

At Bangor, Lexi Chasse scored two goals and assisted another as John Bapst defeated Ellsworth.

Taylor Blood and Jenn Rider combined to stop 25 of 37 shots for 0-1 Mattanawcook.

At Woodland, Molly White recorded a hat trick with three goals as the Woodland Dragons opened the season with a win.
Hope Howard and Ann Ressdal added goals for the 1-0 Dragons while Kelsey Worden had seven saves on 16 shots.

At Limestone, Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics scored three straight goals in the second half and held on to defeat Washburn.
Stephanie Leighton scored two second-half goals and Jasmine Cote scored for the 3-3-1 Eagles. Daniele Pelkey scored in the first half and Amanda Allen provided an assist. Audra Kirk saved five of eight shots.
Lindsey Blackstone had a goal and an assist for the 2-4-3 Beavers. Jordan Chandler and Kristi Sperrey also scored. Rayah Saucier saved seven of 14 shots.

At Mars Hill, Valerie Parker scored twice as Madawaska beat Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.
Nicole Cyr and Meagan Ouellette scored goals for 3-3-0 Madawaska. Amanda Nadeau saved four of nine shots.
Ashley Estabrook turned away five of 20 shots for 3-5-1 Central Aroostook.

Bangor 14, Brewer 1
At Bangor, freshman Grace Maclean netted a hat trick in her first varsity game while senior striker Eliza Estabrook scored three times as well as Bangor won comfortably in a mutual opener.
Kim Jordan scored a pair of goals for the 1-0 Rams, which outshot the Witches 46-4. Liz Hintz, Megan Doucette, Annie McKay, Ashley Robinson, Chelsey Hardy, Brianna McKenna and Adriana Capuano each added a goal while Estabrook, Shannon Broznya, Gabrielle Grandchamp, Hintz and McKay each had an assist.
Meri Wicks and Mia Smith combined to make three saves for Bangor.
Rachel Braithwaite scored a consolation goal in the second half for 0-1 Brewer. Hannah Simmons, Missy Thompson and Colleen Gilley combined for 18 saves.

Ryan Wilks had the only assist, on a Bilodeau goal. Goalkeeper Nathan Wyman made eight saves on nine shots.
Cole Haskell made nine saves on 12 shots for Central.

WA Raiders 5, George Stevens 1
At East Machias, Nicholas Hickson and Ben Teer scored two goals apiece as Washington Academy topped George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill.
Noah von Rotz added a goal for the 1-0 Raiders. Bryce Colbeth turned away 10 of 11 shots.
Mike Senter-Zapata scored in the second half for the 0-1 Eagles. Ben Olivari saved 29 of 34 shots.

Madawaska 2, Cen. Aroostook 0
At Mars Hill, Michael Cannan scored a goal off a Jon Lee assist with 26:32 remaining in the first half, giving the Owls the only goal they would need.
Lee also set up Cannan for a second-half goal as Madawaska (5-1-1) beat Central Aroostook for the second time this season. Jamie Cyr made six saves on 15 shots for the Owls.
Ross Grass made seven saves on 18 shots for the 7-2 Panthers.

LCS/MSSM 0, Washburn 0 (2OT)
At Limestone, Aaron St. Pierre of Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics and Washburn’s Justin Howe didn’t allow a goal through regulation and two overtimes.
Pierre stopped six of 11 shots for the 2-4-1 Eagles and Howe made 15 saves on 22 shots for the 1-7-1 Beavers.

Bangor 5, Brewer 0
At Doyle Field in Brewer, senior striker Nick George scored three goals and assisted on another as the defending Eastern Maine Class A champs opened their season with a convincing season-opening win.
Phil Frost and Brian Loiselle scored the other Bangor goals.
Phil Frost opened the scoring 7:14 into the game as he took a pass from Loiselle and toe-poked the ball into the far corner past helpless junior goalie Shawn Williams.
George gave the Rams some well-earned breathing room with 22 seconds left in the half as he broke behind the Witch defense to gather in a long thrown-in by Adam King and had his shot deflect off a Brewer defender between Williams’ legs.
George made it 3-0 3:03 into the second half when he and his cousins, Noah and Phil Frost, teamed up on a beautiful passing sequence. Phil Frost accepted a pass from Noah Frost and sent a low cross across the goalmouth where George simply tapped it home.
George completed his hat trick by finishing off a Phil Frost through ball with an angled shot into the far corner and Brian Loiselle capped the scoring by lunging to direct George’s pass into the net.
Bud Angst made two saves on three shots for Bangor while Williams turned aside 11 of 39 shots.

At Orono, Amanda Knanich scored off a corner with 15 seconds remaining in overtime to give the Minutemen the win.
Becca Leavitt set up Knanich’s score, and Kristin Marter turned back all eight shots she faced.

At Pittsfield, Sabrina Vaillancourt scored two goals as Nokomis of Newport shut out Maine Central Institute.

Kayla Michaud turned away 11 shots for the 0-1 Huskies.
