STOCKTON SPRINGS – Willard K. “Buck” Bulkley, 84, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. He was born June 26, 1925, in Westport, Conn., to Willard and Maud Bulkley He lived in the Westport, Conn., area for eight decades with the exception of the years that he served in the military. He followed in his father’s footsteps as a carpenter and has worked on many homes in the area. Willard served in the U.S. Coast Guard for three years during World War II. One of his more prominent memories was that of being in the South Pacific and the Battle of Leyte. He and his wife moved to Stockton Springs in fall 2005. He was predeceased by his sister, Helen McKinney of Westport, Conn. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Hannah C. Bulkley of Stockton Springs; his son, Buck Bulkley and his wife, Cindy, of Stockton Springs; his daughter, Sharon Cooper of New Haven, Conn.; three grandsons, Scott and wife, Jacqui Bulkley, of Houston, Texas, Chad and wife, Brittany Bulkley, of Bangor and Harry Cooper of New Haven, Conn.; one granddaughter, Leigh-Anne Cooper of New Haven, Conn.; and two great-grandsons, Joshua and Aiden Bulkley, both of Bangor.
