I thank Dania Stager-Snow for calling to report the last meeting of the season for the Franklin Historical Society is 7 tonight at the FHS museum on Route 200.

The presenter will be Nancy Willey, discussing the “Historical BaseLine Geophysical Project of the U.S. Coast,” according to information Stager-Snow updated me with and the late William “Bill” Robertson had provided before his death on Aug. 24.

Although we had never met, Bill and I became “phone friends” through his many calls about activities in the Franklin area.

I always knew the instant I heard his distinctively pleasant, booming voice, who was calling, and it made me smile.

It is obvious from the contacts I received regarding his brief illness and death at 85 that Bill had many, many friends, and that he will be greatly missed.
