BUCKSPORT – Priscilla H. Moore Metcalf, 82, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at Orono Commons, with her loving family by her side. She was born Jan. 17, 1927, daughter of Carl and Edith (Douglas) Heath. Priscilla had a love of food and people, so much so that she owned and operated Priscilla’s Restaurant, Bucksport, for more than 40 years. Upon her retirement she continued to keep her love of food and people alive by becoming the “Pie Lady,” selling homemade pies out of her home. She was a member of Felicity Chapter No. 195 Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by and will be sadly missed by her husband, Stanley Metcalf of Bucksport; one brother, Adelbert Heath and his wife, Ann, of Vero Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Claire Jamieson of Dedham and Rita Griffin and husband, Charles, of Bucksport; grandchildren, Suzanne MacLeod and husband, Chris, of Bucksport, Aaron Howard of Phoenix, Wilbury Howard of Surry and Aimee Howard of Portland; and great-grandsons, Brady and Riley MacLeod of Bucksport. Priscilla is also survived by stepchildren, John and Anne Metcalf, Richard and Debbie Metcalf, Marianne Thompson and special friend, Butch Scully, Stan and Carol Metcalf, and Daryl and Terrilyn Twigg; 25 stepgrandchildren and one great-stepgrandson. Priscilla was predeceased by one brother, Douglas Heath. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at Orland United Methodist Church, Narramissic Drive, Orland, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Immediately after the service will be a time of remembrance at the parish hall of Orland United Methodist Church. The family would like those in attendance to share a memory of Priscilla with those gathered. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Orland United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 81, Orland, ME 04472. Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
