BANGOR – Joyce Dorr, 74, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sept. 19, 2009, after a brief illness. She was born Feb. 14, 1935, in Woodstock, New Brunswick, the daughter of Earl and Myrtle Dickinson. She was a longtime resident of Veazie and always felt that was her home. Joyce found her love in nursing and spent 26 years working at Eastern Maine Medical Center and later went to part-time home care. Surviving are her husband, Rick Dorr; four children, Robert, Ricky, Michael and Stephanie and their spouses; eight grandchildren, Kristina, Christopher, Kelly, Travis, Angela, Nichole, Jessica and Justin; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Colby “Peanut”; two stepchildren, Ricky and Chris; five stepgrandchildren, Paige, Zachery, Dustin, Devon and Gabriel; several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, with Pastor Tom Obey, of Bangor Baptist Church, officiating.
