BANGOR – Tyler Strout Carlisle, 26, died unexpectedly Sept. 17, 2009, at his home. Tyler was born Nov. 4, 1982, in Bangor. He attended Orono schools, graduating from Orono High in 2001. Tyler had a great love for his family and friends. He was an avid snowboarder and spent several winters working for Vail Mountain Corp. In addition to snowboarding, Tyler excelled in ice hockey and soccer. Tyler shared his father’s interest in woodworking and design. He worked as a residential carpenter in Bend, Ore., Logan, Utah, and the Greater Bangor area. Tyler was the beloved son of his parents, Jobie Carlisle and his wife, Mary Hubbard, of Logan, Utah, and Sally Carlisle and husband, Bill Unertl, of Orono. He will also be greatly missed by his sister, Sarah Carlisle; brothers, Will and Davis Carlisle; his girlfriend, Megan Fleming; as well as his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his loving grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Warren Strout, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carlisle; and cousin, Adam Carlisle. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial gathering for Tyler 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
