EXETER – Mardel Virginia Doodson, 85, died Sept. 27, 2009, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born Aug. 5, 1924, in New Haven, Conn., daughter of Merritt and Mardel (Davis) Conrad. She graduated from Danbury High School, Class of 1942. Mardel worked as a bookkeeper for several credit unions and banks. At the time of her retirement she had been working as the bookkeeper for Fernald’s Market, Corinna. She was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Greg “Skip” Doodson of Exeter; a brother, Robert Conrad; two sisters, Virginia Fournier and Betty Fusek, all of Danbury, Conn.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin G. Doodson; two brothers and one sister. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Corinna chapel of Crosby & Neal, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Cindy Nickerson officiating.
