BUCKSPORT and ORRINGTON – Edgar R. “Pinky” Stewart, 73, husband of Rose M. (LeGasse) Stewart, died Sept. 30, 2009, at a Brewer health center. He was born Sept. 1, 1936, in Orrington, the son of Charles E. and Elizabeth (Dale) Stewart. Pinky grew up in Orrington and worked as a carpenter most of his life building many homes in the Bangor/Brewer area. He enjoyed the coast of Maine, going to yard sales and he liked to fix clocks. He spent many hours at his “board meetings” at Brewer Coffee Shop, Caps and at the White Elephant. Surviving in addition to his wife of 46 years of Bucksport are four children, Lynn Marie Bowden and her husband, Stephen, of Bucksport, Richard E. Stewart and his wife, Rosemary, of Bucksport, Ronald A. Stewart and his wife, Robin, of Orrington and Charles E. Stewart of Glenburn; a daughter-in-law, Joan H. Stewart of Bucksport; one brother, Donald Stewart and his wife, Velma, of Stillwater; 12 grandchildren, Melissa Mixer and her husband, Billy, Nicole Gould and her husband, Michael, Leslie Russell, Mary Meservey and her husband, Gary, Scott Stewart and his wife, Kandi, Michael Stewart, Lena Stewart, Stefanie Beers, Kelly Ann Stewart, Janice Farrington, Katie Stewart and Connie Stewart; 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Joseph M. Stewart; a granddaughter, Corrine M. Stewart; a daughter-in-law, Maggie Stewart; three brothers, Elliott “Bink” Stewart, Edward “Tom” Stewart and Allen B. Stewart; and one sister, Helen A. Hatch. His family gratefully thanks the staff of Brewer Rehab & Living Center and Dr. Smith for the years of excellent care. Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer, where a service honoring his life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev.
