BANGOR, Maine — A laborer working on the Hammond Street Bridge replacement project was injured about 9 a.m. Monday morning in a 15-foot fall onto a steel piling.
Maine Department of Transportation spokesman Mark Latti said state transportation officials had little additional information to release about the accident because the injured worker is employed by a project subcontractor, Newman Concrete Services of Richmond.
Latti said he was told the worker’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Efforts to reach officials at Newman Concrete on Monday were not successful.
