BREWER – Walter R. “Bud” Adams passed away Oct. 7, 2009, with his daughter, Andrea, by his side at a local hospital, after a short illness. He was born May 22, 1927, in Presque Isle, the youngest of five children of James B. and Alice (Boyle) Adams. An outstanding football player for the Bangor Rams, he interrupted his education to serve in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Upon his return he graduated in the Class of 1947 at Bangor High School. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he joined Jim Adams Inc. and worked with his father; brother, Jim; and brother-in-law, Bunk, for many years. After the death of his father, he lived with his mother, making it possible for her to remain in her home. He was a member of St. Andrews Masonic Lodge and was a 50-year member of Anah Shriners. He loved playing pool and enjoyed many years with his weekly matches. Surviving are his three children, Andrea (Adams) Page and her husband, George, of Hermon, Mark Adams of North Carolina and Larisa Adams of Sabattus; four grandchildren, Amanda and Nicholas Page of Hermon and Allison and Mariah Adams of Sabattus; his sisters, Penny Adams Folsom of Cumberland and Noreen Adams Gormely of Brewer; his brother, Jim and his wife, Jean Adams, of Otis; eight nieces and three nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Adams; and two nephews, Jim Adams II and Bill Gormely. A graveside Masonic service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Woodlawn Cemetery, North Main Street, Brewer, by the officers and members of St. Andrew’s Lodge No. 83 AF & AM, Bangor.
