BROOKLIN – Linwood Earl Carter died Oct. 14, 2009, with family by his side at home, after a short illness. He was born in Sedgwick, the son of Earl and Gladys (Cousins) Carter. After serving as an engineman second class in the Navy, 1950-1954, Linwood returned home to Brooklin and was a well-respected lobsterman throughout the rest of his life. Quick wit and a good sense of humor were a big part of Linwood’s personality. His love of hunting and expert tracking skills were well known. He was a proud member of the Odd Fellows for more than 50 years. Linwood is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth (Gray) Carter; two stepdaughters, Yvonne Bigos and Nancy Weber; a grandson, Kyle Bigos and wife, Nicole; two great-grandchildren, Kaden and Jasmine Bigos; and by a sister, Beatrice Spaulding. In addition to his parents, Linwood was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Carter; sister-in-law, Betty Carter; brother-in-law, Harold Spaulding; and a stepgranddaughter, Deborah Ryan. He will be missed by many friends and neighbors. At his request, there will be no service. Interment will be held at a later date at Beth Eden Cemetery, Nakeag Road, Brooklin.
