BROOKLIN – Wesley C. Bartlett Jr., 87, died Oct. 13, 2009, at his home with his family. He was born Aug. 14, 1922, in West Tremont, the son of Wesley C. and Evelyn (Ober) Bartlett Sr. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served as a gunners mate third class during World War II until 1945. He was married to Hildred Clark for 46 years until her death in 1989. Together they had seven children. He was a member of North Blue Hill Grange. He was a talented carpenter and later worked for Francis T. Nichols until his retirement. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed lobstering and ice fishing. He loved his family and being with them. He is survived by his children, Ann Sartain, Marie Farrington, Linda Bartlett, Bunny DeBloise, June Hunter-Anderson, Wesley C. Bartlett III and Emily Bolton; six grandsons, 11 granddaughters, 11 great-grandsons, eight great-granddaughters and one great-great-grandson. He will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews, and those who knew him well. He was predeceased by his three brothers and five sisters. At his request, there will be no services.
