ORRINGTON – Dion “Donnie” A. Seymour Jr. was suddenly taken from us to be with his heavenly father Oct. 15, 2009, after an ATV accident on a mountaintop in Dedham. He was born April 17, 1952, in Belfast, the son of Dion and Susie Seymour. Donnie attended Springfield Bible College, Springfield, Mo., graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and ministered in Exeter, N.H., and Oneonta, N.Y, under the auspices of The Assembly of God. Donnie owned a successful painting company for many years until he furthered his education by attending the University of Maine, receiving a second Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He was employed at MBNA and then Bank of America, Belfast, until July 2006. He enjoyed many outdoor activities with his children, grandsons and the family dogs. His talents showed greatly in carpentry, masonry, painting, sheetrocking and in all his handiwork around the homes of his family and friends. He enjoyed making things for the home and for his family. He had a great way of looking at something while seeing how it could be functional and look good. Wherever he ventured he met new friends. No one was a stranger for long with his robust sense of humor and unforgettable jolly laugh. His love for the Lord came first, which he generously showed toward his family. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Anne Corey Seymour; four children, Jeremy and his wife, Angela, of Kansas City, Mo., Michael and his wife, Lisa, of Holden, Dawn and her husband, Mark D’Angelo, of Farmingdale and Melissa and her husband, Karl Larson, of Winterport; his adored grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, Logan, Brayden, Emma, Laura, Megan and another is on the way, and also an adopted grandson, C.J. He is also survived by his parents, Dion and Susie of Holden; his brothers, Jamie James of Orrington and Wayne Dalrymple of New Jersey; sisters, Patty and her husband, Tim Bovee, of Brewer and Karen and her husband, Wayne Deck, of Old Town; many nieces, nephews and extended family members who will miss him dearly. Relatives and friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, with the Rev. Burt Lowry, pastor of Ellsworth Assembly of God, officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date.
