CARIBOU and BREWER – Frederick James Manzer, 81, passed away Oct. 14, 2009, at the Maine Veterans’ Home after a long illness. He was born Dec. 17, 1927, in Washburn, the son of Archibald and Clare (Bishop) Manzer. Fred served in the U.S. Army from January 1946 to July 1947. He was predeceased by his first wife, Pauline Linton Manzer; and second wife, Myrtle Williams. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Thibodeau; four sons, Frederick Manzer and his wife, Linda, of Stafford, Va., Paul Manzer and his wife, Leanne, of Richmond, Va., Kirk Manzer and his wife, Gayle, of Tomball, Texas, and William Manzer and his wife, Ellen, of Scarborough; eight grandchildren, Michelle, Sara, Amanda, Benjamin, Selena, Jarrod, James and Nathan; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Andy; a brother, Perry; sister, Dawn; many nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at Plaster Rock Cemetery, New Brunswick.
