GARLAND – Betty Brooks, 64, died Oct. 17, 2009, as the result of an automobile accident. She was born Aug. 19, 1945, in Dexter, a daughter of Sterling and Elizabeth (Knowlton) Bryer Sr. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Brooks III of Garland; three sons, Albert and wife, Bonnie Cookson, of Milo, Jessie Cookson and girlfriend, Jennifer Novin, of Garland, and Richard Brooks of Bradford; four daughters, Brenda McClure and friend, Clifford Allen, of LaGrange, Jennie and husband, Stephen Ames, of Bradford, Mildred and husband, Bruce Jordan, of Waltham, and Nancy and husband, George Hayes, of Atkinson; one brother, Richard Bryer of Exeter; one sister, Bertha Williams of Hudson; 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Graveside committal services will be held noon Saturday, Oct. 24, at Brann’s Mills Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
