ORLAND – Edward Thibodeau Jr., 79, died unexpectedly Oct. 21, 2009, at his home. He was born June 18, 1930, in Millinocket, the son of Edward and Helen (Sylvain) Thibodeau Sr. He attended Oblate Seminary, Bucksport, before graduating from Winterport High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Ed was a devoted Catholic, a member of St. Vincent DePaul and St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church; an honorary fourth degree Knight; and member of the Color Guard. Gloria and Ed were the coordinators for World Wide Marriage Day for 25 years in Bucksport. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, trips on the Golden Road, and to visit his special family, Juan and Zenedya, Christina and Carolos Mentenegro in Montreal. Ed was a carpenter for more than 40 years and did carpentry till the day he died. He out worked men half his age, and always had a funny story to share and a joke to tell. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Gloria Jean (Woodman) Thibodeau of Orland; was the loving father of Patricia, Mark, Lori and Christy David, and Ken Ogden, who was like a son to him; and a caring and loving Grampy, “Pe’pe’” or “Lulu,” to Jessica, Kaitlin, Sarah, Adam, Hanes, Shawntelle, Tanisha, Tiffany and Brody. He is also survived by brothers, Reno and Vi Thibodeau of Frankfort, Robert and Jane Thibodeau of Florida, George and Claudette Thibodeau of Maryland and Bill and Lynette Thibodeau of Winterport; many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church with Father Bruce Siket, celebrant.
