BANGOR – Leo Maurice Gendreau was called home Oct. 21, 2009, at his home. Surviving are Phil and Barbara Joyce and their children, Ron, Sue and Noah Potvin; and Charlene and Robert McLean and their family. Phil and Barbara, along with Tom and Lee Shirland in many different combos, have done many projects throughout many years for Bunny and continued to do so for Leo and Bunny. In addition, the six of them had taken several vacations together, the latest being to Las Vegas in 2003. Lee was a featured speaker at her first national conference, so while Lee, Barbara and Bunny were at the nursing conference Tom and Phil took Leo to several sites, including Hoover Dam and a car museum in the Las Vegas area. As the saying goes, “fun was had by all.” When Ron and Sue came to Maine from Massachusetts, Bunny and Sue had the privilege of working together at Eastern Maine Medical Center Labor Room before Emma was even born – now Mrs. Grant Gallimore, the eldest Gendreau grandson. Bunny and Leo bought farm products from Ron as well, being always surprised at the high quality produce he raised in Newport. Sue and Bunny have enjoyed the closer family ties each telling mutual friends, “I’m related to Sue Potvin/ Bunny Dunn.” Charlene was able to spend some of her youthful years with Leo and Marilyn – when she was in the area she and Bob would make it a point to stop and visit with Leo and Bunny.
