BANGOR – Helen R. McCarthy, 94, died Oct. 25, 2009, at a local nursing home. She was born Dec. 2, 1914, in Bangor, the daughter of James and Emma (Russell) McCarthy. Helen was a lifelong communicant of St. John’s Catholic Church. She was a bookkeeper for Bangor Office Supply for more than 50 years. She was the sister of Ruth Gagnon, James McCarthy, Eugene McCarthy, Joan Sheehan and Isabelle Smith; and the aunt to 10 nieces and one nephew. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor. Interment will be after in the family lot at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
