HAMPDEN – Kevin “Kev” M. McKay, 55, passed away, Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, surrounded by loved ones at his sister’s home. He was born July 30, 1954, in Bangor, the son of Carroll and Gloria (Kierstead) McKay. Kevin was a very loving, kind, private person. He was a very good mechanic. Kevin graduated from Bangor High School. He operated his own shop where many of his friends liked gathering. Kevin recently was employed at Bangor Motor Sports. In addition to his father, Kevin is survived by a son, Justin McKay of Bangor; a brother, Jim McKay and his wife, Sheila, of Tacoma, Wash.; two sisters, Carole Cote and her husband, Peter, of Hermon and Nancy McClure and her husband, Herb, of Newburgh; two nieces and two nephews. In addition to his mother, Kevin was predeceased by his stepmother, Barbara McKay; and his brother, Tim McKay. A memorial reception will be held 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, at Ramada Inn, Odlin Road, Bangor. Those wishing to remember Kevin in a special way may make gifts in his memory to New Hope Hospice, P.O.
