SORRENTO – Dorothy S. (Richardson) Andrews, 89, wife of the late Lloyd C. Andrews, went to be with the Lord Nov. 1, 2009, at an Ellsworth hospital, with her family by her side. She was born Oct. 1, 1920, in Spruce Head, the daughter of Arthur and Dorothy (Hamm) Richardson. Dorothy’s passions were her gardens and her plants. She especially loved children and devoted much of her life to caring for them. She was a devoted member of Bible Baptist Church, Hancock where she was the second baptized at age 87. She is survived by four children, Mary and her husband, John Grangrade, of Florida, Richard Andrews of Sorrento, Sam Andrews and his wife, Linda, of Sorrento, and Jean Andrews and her fianc?, Dennis Mitchell, of Sullivan; 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard and his wife, Jean, of Florida; one sister, Estelle Clements of Bangor; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Ernest, John, Ralph and Ronald; and one sister, Beulah. A celebration of her life will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at Bible Baptist Church, Route 1, Hancock, with Pastor Dan Quinlan officiating.
