LINCOLN – Patricia C. Ludden, 63, died unexpectedly Nov. 3, 2009, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born March 25, 1946, in Carroll, the daughter of Earl and Lavina (Smith) Dicker. Pat married Douglas C. Ludden, July 26, 1969, in Lincoln. She was a member of May Basket Group at church for six years. Silent, but strong, she was the “cement” that held the family together. She never asked for anything, but gave everything. Pat always kept the walkways and decks shoveled in the winter, and kept the fires going in the house and the garage. She wouldn’t allow anyone else to split the kindling wood because they couldn’t do it right. She was a loon collector, even though she didn’t enjoy the lake. She loved puzzles, knitting, “sisters meetings,” and cooking for family and church events. She loved her family dearly. Her children were her life until her grandchildren came along. Her life revolved around Brock, Natalie and Gabrielle. In addition to her husband, Doug of Lincoln, she is survived by three children, Daniel C. Ludden and Candace Sabol of Orono, Holly A. Page and Jonathan Berry of Lincolnville, and Christina R. Tash and Jared of Chester; six sisters, Elizabeth O’Neill of East Millinocket, Isabel Hawkins, Carolyn Neal and Dalton, Dora Carr and Roy, Earlene Perry and Harley, and Mary Shorey and Doug, all of Lincoln; a stepsister, Betty Gordon of Lincoln; brothers-in-law, Timothy Ludden and Jeanne Day of South Portland, and Jon Ludden of Bangor; three grandchildren, Brock Douglas Ludden, Natalie Ann Tash and Gabrielle Alexis Tash; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her stepmother, Nora Dicker; sister, Hannah Curtis; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Abbott and Ruth Ludden. Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Linda Hatch officiating. Interment will be at Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maine Special Olympics. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
