PITTSFIELD – Peter “Trey” M. Duncombe, 9, died peacefully Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, in Pittsfield. He was born Sept. 9, 2000, in Waterville, the son of Peter A. and Ann (Mathews) Duncombe. Trey was his family’s angel here on Earth sent with a purpose. His sweet and happy personality shed love on everyone who knew him. He loved to be held and snuggled close. He enjoyed going to school and had many special friends. Trey’s life was very open. He was physically challenged yet remained incredibly courageous and happy. He was loved very much and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his parents; his brother, Mathew Duncombe; his sister, Heidi Ann Duncombe; his grandparents, Peter K. and Genevieve Duncombe of St. Albans; his special care giver, Barbara Wade; his godparents, Rob and Terri Hall; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Harris “Hap” and Shelia Mathews. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield, where a funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, with the Rev. Glenn Nichols officiating. A gathering will be immediately afterward at a place to be announced. A private interment will be held at Village Cemetery, Peltoma Avenue, Pittsfield.
