BANGOR – Helen C. Rolsky, 89, passed away peacefully Nov. 10, 2009, with her family by her side at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Feb. 5, 1920, in Bangor, the daughter of Jacob and Lena (Goldberg) Braveman. To Helen, her family was her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother, and was dearly loved by her family. Her grandchildren were the world to her and she took great pride when they called her their “Bobie.” Her nature was to love and be loved and she became “Bobie” to many dear friends and family. She was also a teacher of life and had a quiet way of caring for people. Puppy dogs were a passion of Helen’s. They always brought a beautiful smile to her face. She was a member of Beth Israel Synagogue and a lifetime member of Beth Israel Sisterhood. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Simon Rolsky; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Darrah and husband, Alan, of Hermon; a sister, Marcia Braveman of Bangor; two cherished grandchildren, Lisa Franck and husband, Justin, of Hermon and Brian Darrah of Bangor; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held noon Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Jewish Funeral Chapel, 118 Center St., Bangor. Interment will be at Beth Israel Cemetery, Bangor. A memorial period will be observed 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, and 9 a.m.-noon Sunday, Nov. 15, at the home of Vicki and Alan Darrah, 2060 Spruce St., Hermon.
