CARIBOU – Virginia Ruth Susee, 81, wife of Joseph Maxwell Susee, died Nov. 14, 2009, in Caribou. She was born Oct. 27, 1928, in Wolfeboro, N.H., daughter of the late Stanley and Vietta (Niles) Briggs. Virginia, also known as Ginny, was a stay-at-home mom, caring for her two children until they were well into school. She then found time to clerk at a Caribou children’s clothing store and later taking care of the greeting card department of a local general store. When her husband began building homes, she worked with him painting and doing whatever jobs needed to be done. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she was a past member of Daughters of Isabella. Ginny loved to play golf and was a member of Caribou Country Club. Surviving in addition to her husband of more than 61 years, Joseph M. Susee of Caribou, are one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Brian Emery of Cumberland Center; her son, Alan Susee of Fort Kent; one sister, Lucille Poland of Brick, N.J.; four grandchildren, Beth and Christopher Emery and Jonathan and Andrew Susee; several nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family noon until the time of service Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, where services will be held 1 p.m. Interment will be at Northern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery.
