WINTERPORT – Stephen Patrick Arrants Sr., 78, passed away peacefully Nov. 15, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. Pat was born April 18, 1931, in Irvington, N.J., son of the late Ormie and Mary (McBreen) Arrants. Pat served his country in the Navy before working as an electrician at Western Electric. Pat spent many hours playing golf in his spare time, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his wife dancing, going to the movies, traveling or whatever else it may have been as long as they were together. Pat was a faithful communicant of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, Winterport. Pat will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Pat was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Virginia (Lovejoy) Arrants; and his daughter, Maureen. He is survived by his loving wife, who will deeply miss him, Marguerite M. (Rancourt) Arrants; his son, Stephen P. Arrants Jr. and partner, Glen; and his two grandchildren, James and Giovanna. A memorial Mass celebrating Pat’s life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, Main Street, Winterport. Memorial contributions in Pat’s honor may be made to purchase new altar clothes for St. Gabriel’s, care of St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor, ME 04401.
